Sunshine Technology hold rights to 97,000 hectares (ha) of forestry land in East and West Nusa Tenggara in Indonesia, of which approximately 60 per cent is likely to be plantable. The sites consist of two separate areas of approximately 22,000 ha and 14,000 ha in Sumbawa and a further 61,000 ha in West Timor. The land rights take the form of concessions issued by the Ministry of Forestry for the purposes of commercial forestry.

In October 2009, our local subsidary, PT. Sunshine Technology Nusa Tenggara, was granted the right to plant the 22,000-ha site.  In expectation of this approval, the tree nursery was started in August in order that 10 million quality seedlings per annum could be produced for transplant. Planting began in December 2009 and we aim to plant approximately 2700 ha in 2010, increasing to 8700 ha per annum from 2012.
